Special Training
Night Rating (NR)
This rating being endorsed on your license allows one to fly at night. The training is a minimum of 5 hours by night with an instructor.
Instrument Rating (IR)
This rating allows the pilot to fly day and night and in bad weather conditions. The minimum training is 40 hours of instruction in a single engine or twin aircraft.
Multiengine Rating (MER)
This rating allows the pilot to fly twin engine or multiengine aircraft. The minimum requirement is 10 flying hours in a twin aircraft.
Flight Instructor Rating
To be an instructor, you need to be trained for 50 hours including flying and ground instruction followed by a flying exam with a KCAA Examiner.
